FURNITURE AND ACCESSORIES
There are so many small ways in which you can brighten up your garden and make it look brand-new ready for summer. There are, of course, the more obvious ways you can do this which may be a little bit pricier. However, buying new furniture, tables, chairs, swinging seats or a BBQ will all add to your garden and make it come to life. It will also allow you to get more use out of it and spend more time soaking up the sun this year. Look at our wide range of available outdoor furniture and BBQ’s here.
You can also go for the more simple and effective options if you’re looking to change your garden on a budget. Try purchasing some decorative tea lights to place around your garden to light it up even when the sun starts to go down. Any form of light, from garden lanterns to fairy lights, transform your garden and give it a bit more life during the night for any parties you are planning to host this season.
Accessories are very important in the hotter times of year. Something so small can easily make your garden look brand-new and stylish. By buying things such as pillows and throws to go on any new or old furniture in your garden can make it look more modern. Even just repainting any furniture or fences that needed it can really make an improvement. Alternatively, if you’re feeling adventurous you could try painting them a brighter colour; Something that will stand out more than black or brown. It will improve its appearance and create a prettier garden in the simplest way.
PLANTS AND TREES
We all know when the warmer weather starts to come around we need to start getting new plants to brighten up the garden. Here are some easy tips for keeping your lovely new plants looking new and keeping your lawn green…
The most important thing is to make sure you’re watering any hanging baskets at least once a day if the weather is very dry. Similarly, if your grass is already green, then you want to make sure you’re keeping it this way. Try to use a sprinkler once a week on this to keep it looking fresh. You need to feed your lawn and mow it once a week to keep up its condition.
Lastly, here are some plants and trees you could purchase to brighten up your garden this year. Some of the smaller trees such as the Juneberry, Ornamental Cherry or the Crab apple tree might be an option for you. If you’re looking for some smaller plants, then these might be for you. Heat loving plants might be a good choice such as Lantana, Angelonia or Pentas, as they would really come out and bloom beautifully in the warm weather. Some plants are just as colourful, like the sneezeweed, which comes out as a bright orange/yellow shade and looks its best in August-October, and the Large Coneflower blooms between June-July. This is a taller plant and can grow up to 5-6 feet but is a beautiful shade of yellow and will attract a lot of wildlife. If you’d like to add some purple to your garden this year, the German Garlic flower might be for you. They can form up to 30 flowers per plant and appeal to nature.
