CURRENT POPULAR HOUSEPLANTS
Now more so than ever, the home is the perfect place to be for solace and safety. This makes it a great time to consider bringing your gardening into the home, creating an indoor garden with a great selection of houseplants. In this Blog, we will explore 3 types of houseplants which are proving to be exceptionally popular at the moment.
WHY ARE THEY GREAT?
Houseplants look fantastic throughout the year, helping to uplift the interior of your home. Not only will they help to provide a great splash of colour to your home, it is scientifically proven that houseplants do purify the air around us, helping to create a more pleasant overall environment. With various benefits such as these, why wouldn’t you want to amass a collection of plants indoors?
We will now explore some of our favourites which will bring both elegance and vibrancy to your indoor living area.
SUCCULENTS
Succulents are an ever-increasing popular choice for homeowners. Not only do they look fantastic, they are incredibly easy to maintain. Thus, they make for a great addition to your home. Ideally, Succulents prosper when receiving at least 6 hours of sunlight a day. This is the main reason why indoor Succulents make a home on many windowsills.
Another important tip to consider is do not overwater your Succulents. Although it is always tempting to water them, do not drown them as they simply won’t be able to absorb the water. A great rule of thumb is to water often, but little.
BROMELIAD
Beautiful raspy colours, which will bring a real splash of colour to your home. Bromeliad is the name for a family of plants that is incredibly diverse. There are 2,877 different species of bromeliads whilst being just about as many ways to care for them! Fortunately, they are plants which are exceptional easy to maintain and take care of.
Care:
Have a tendency of accidentally killing your plants? If you do, then do not worry as this is the perfect plant for you! These beauties maintain their waxy blooms for weeks, if not months and rarely, if ever, need much assistance, just make sure they are watered whenever the soil feels dry to the touch and place them in a bright location that’s protected from direct sunlight.
Will it grow to be too big?
These plants stay compact and won’t try to take over your living room. This makes them ideal for apartments, office desks, bedroom and shelf spaces.

Anthurium
Traditionally from the warm climates of South America, these are another plant which are also growing rapidly in popularity. With its vibrant scarlet flowering, this is a houseplant which is bound to stand out in any room in your house. In the centre of the flower, there is a tiny yellow spike which contrasts perfectly with the plant, perfectly encapsulating it’s vibrant look. Whether you choose to put it in the living room, bedroom or kitchen, this is a plant that you will absolutely love!
Care:
Anthuriums are relatively easy to maintain. They can tolerate all levels of indirect light, but anthuriums growing in low light will have fewer flowers and will develop at a slower rate. These plants cannot tolerate direct light however, as this can burn the leaves.
Make sure to water your anthurium plant regularly, but don’t over water. Only water your anthurium when the soil is dry to the touch. The plant is susceptible to root rot, so too much water can cause the roots to die.
