Exciting Connections Ahead: New Bus Route Launching on Monday, 30th October 2023

Commencing from Sevenoaks Bus Station, Route 3 will travel via Sevenoaks Station, Riverhead Tesco, Dunton Green, Knockholt Pound, Halstead, Polhill Garden Centre, Pratts Bottom, Green Street Green, and Orpington, concluding at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Locks Bottom.

The service will operate three times daily in each direction from Mondays to Fridays, presenting additional travel options for bus users. This route will offer a direct bus service from Sevenoaks to Orpington, including a stop at the ever-popular Polhill Garden Centre. Furthermore, it will establish a new link connecting Knockholt, Halstead, and the PRU Hospital for the first time, enhancing accessibility.

In addition to the standard service, a dedicated schooltime service (designated as S3) will be available. The S3 service will provide extra capacity during school hours, facilitating efficient transportation between Orpington, Halstead, Knockholt Pound, Dunton Green, Riverhead, and Knole Academy in Sevenoaks. This aims to alleviate overcrowding on the S32, S34, and S8 bus routes. A return journey will also be available in the afternoon.

Regarding fares, Route 3 will align with TfL pricing for contactless card payments within the London area, set at £1.75. Alternatively, a flat fare of £3 will apply to all other journeys. Unfortunately, Oyster cards will not be accepted on this service. However, all ENCTS (Elderly) pass holders may travel free of charge after 09:30. Standard school fares apply for the S3 route.
