Climbing Hydrangea is a beautiful and versatile plant that can be grown on a wall, fence, or trellis. It is also a good choice for covering a shady area. A deciduous vine that climbs by means of aerial roots. It has heart-shaped leaves that turn yellow in autumn. The flowers are white and appear in clusters in late spring to early summer. They are fragrant and attract bees and butterflies.
Height: Can cover large spaces if allowed to spread over time.
Planting: When planting this plant in the open ground it is best planted with a mixture of your garden soil and a good quality Tree and Shrub Compost. If planting in a container then we recommend John Innes No3 Compost or a good quality Multipurpose compost. These plants should be fed in Spring and late Summer with a good quality granular fertiliser.
