Calatheas are a very popular houseplant in the UK. Generally known for their vast array of striking foliage. They are ideal for most rooms but do like humid conditions and do not like temperature variation so avoid placing near radiators. Calathea Crocata is a stunning houseplant with a striking contrast between the dark foliage and the bright orange flowers. The upper surface of the leaf is a dark green with dark purple colouring and the underside of the leaf has tones of dark red.

Benefits: Houseplants are not only beautiful additions to any home, but they can also help improve air quality. Studies have shown that plants can remove toxins from the air, such as formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene. These toxins can be released into the air from a variety of sources, including furniture, carpets, and cleaning products. In addition to removing toxins, houseplants can also help to increase humidity in the air. This is beneficial for people with respiratory problems, such as asthma and allergies.
Additional benefit: Studies show that growing plants indoors also help to reduce stress.
