Aster novi-belgii 'Barbados' is a dwarf variety of Michaelmas Daisy that is prized for its pale purple flowers with yellow centers. It grows to a height of 12-18 inches and has a bushy, spreading habit. The flowers bloom from late summer to early fall. The leaves are slender and dark green. A hardy perennial that is easy to grow. It prefers full sun or partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. It is not fussy about soil type, but it does best in rich, loamy soil. It is drought tolerant once established.
